The 2019 RMEF World Elk Calling Championship: Marisa Pagano Wins her second Championship title!
The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (RMEF) is renowned for its dedication to conserving elk and their habitat. One of the highlights of their annual events is the World Elk Calling Championship. This prestigious competition brings together the world's top elk callers to showcase their skills and compete for the coveted title of World Champion.
A Test of Skill and Passion The World Elk Calling Championship is a rigorous test of a caller's ability to mimic the sounds of elk, including bugles, cow calls, and calf mews. Contestants are judged on the realism and effectiveness of their calls, as well as their stage presence and ability to connect with the audience.
In 2018, Marisa Pagano, competed in her first RMEF World Elk Calling Championship competition in the women's division. Marisa decided to compete after her husband, Damian Pagano won the men's division in 2017. With this win, Damian and Marisa Pagano became the first couple in RMEF history to both hold World Elk Calling Championship titles. This year Damian Pagano made it into the finals, but fell short of winning the title in the Pro's Division. Marisa was able to take the title for a second year in a row in the Women's Division.
Marisa Pagano is a mom, wife and avid hunter. She has been a successful public hunter for almost 30 years. Although Marisa enjoys many outdoor activities, her passion is archery hunting bull elk.
The RMEF World Elk Calling Championship continues to be a highlight of the hunting calendar for Marisa and Damian, as they will be competing in next years competition.
